Winter Storm Thursday
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM THURSDAY TO 9 AM MST FRIDAY.
Below freezing temps this morning and possibly fog, some may freeze as we start with normal seasonal morning lows around 20 ahead of sunrise at 7:30am.
Sunny - 45 with N 5-10 winds and remaining dry today for most ahead of a northern system dropping in overnight to bring snow/rain starting early across Salmon and sweeping across the valley for Thanksgiving late tonight after midnight.
Temperatures will plummet with this system and the low associated with the system will ultimately begin to back spin and put several rounds of showers into the southeastern highlands and across Jackson and south of Pocatello on Thanksgiving morning, then after 11am into the afternoon. Another couple of inches possible into the night before midnight with patchy blowing snows into early Friday night.
Considering the movement of the rotation back toward eastern Idaho from the east, this could mean waves of snow with gusty winds of 30-40mph, blowing snow, and slick conditions and low visibility into Friday. 2-6" is possible. Low tonight 29.
Thanksgiving Day - Snow into the afternoon 41
Thanksgiving night - Waves of snow and 24 with 20-30mph winds.
Friday - Lingering snow showers 35
Friday night - Clearing and 11
Saturday - Sunny 29
Saturday night - Cold and 7
