Tracking rain and snow into 2026

Increasing clouds today ahead of rain/snow for New year's Day. Highs are above average for us today with sun/clouds at close to 40. Lows in the 20s and 30s for fireworks and New Years Eve events. Winds 10-15mph. Rain and snow arrive New Year's Day 60% chance by mid-morning for Blackfoot and Pocatello. Accumulations are less than an inch. Another slight chance of showers on Friday and the more unsettled weather by Saturday 40% chance with heavy showers and snow with little accumulation for the valley. The moisture is here but the temps are too warm, remaining in the upper 30s and lower 40s, to make snow for us. Go above 6000 feet for shredding the gnar. Colder ai will be in play after the weekend, with valley highs in the 30s. Average temp this time of year 28.
