Smoke and cooler temps

Changes today will make it a cooler day with smoke and haze. Highs after the cold front today only in the low 80s. Chilly beginning today with smoke and 50's and 60's.

Winds and low humidity require red flags for fire danger. Winds shifting is another factor for fire-fighting efforts, as we see more smoke today from the Big Rock Fire and drifting smoke to the south.

Seasonal averages for August are 89, and with 81 today in Idaho Falls, we're glad to see some relief. 83 for Pocatello. By the weekend, we have more dawg days of summer weather coming with dry heat and 90's to upper 90's Friday and Saturday.
