Logan Royals take 1-0 series lead over Gate City Grays in 10-8 win

The Logan Royals took a 1-0 series lead in their best-of-three playoff series against the Gate City Grays following a 10-8 victory on Thursday night. Although the Grays mounted a four-run comeback in the seventh inning, they ultimately fell two runs short of tying the game.

Grays catcher Tommy Woodcock was sharp at the plate for Gate City, going 4-for-4 with an RBI in the loss. Left fielder Chris Louie had the most RBI for the team, going 2-for-3 with 3 runs batted in and a walk.

For Logan, first baseman Cesar Galvin, left fielder Gavin Douglas, and Cade Atkinson all made impacts. Galvin went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI and a home run. Douglas went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI and a deep drive of his own, and Atkinson went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and made an appearance on the mound, walking 2 and allowing 1 run.

The Grays will host an elimination game tomorrow in Pocatello, which is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
