South Fremont secures 53-0 blowout victory against North Fremont

SAINT ANTHONY, Idaho (KIFI) – The South Fremont Cougars defeated the North Fremont Huskies 53-0 in a blowout football game in Fremont County. South Fremont took control early in the contest to claim a decisive shutout victory over its county rival. The Cougars jumped out to a multi-touchdown lead in the first quarter, and never looked back.

South Fremont opened the scoring on the second snap of the game. Tayson Farley broke a tackle and ran untouched the rest of the way for a touchdown. Farley then kicked the extra point to give the Cougars a 7-0 lead.

On the ensuing kickoff, Carter Stegelmeier recorded a return for North Fremont to set up the Huskies with field position for their opening drive. During the possession, Dodge Wynn took a handoff, found the edge and outran defenders for a rushing gain before the drive stalled.

Later in the first quarter, Tagg Howard ran up the middle of the Huskies defense for another South Fremont touchdown, building on the early momentum as the Cougars pulled away for the 53-0 shutout. South Fremont gets their revenge after they suffered a blowout to open last season against North Fremont. The Huskies won that game 40-6.

South Fremont will host West Jefferson next Friday, the 28th, and North Fremont will play their first home game of the season that same day when they host Bear Lake.
