Red Flag Warning issued September 17 at 4:31AM MDT until September 17 at 9:00PM MDT by NWS Boise ID

…SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WITH GUSTY WINDS AND LITTLE RAINFALL…

A strong low pressure system will bring scattered thunderstorms
this afternoon with minimal rainfall and outflow wind gusts up to
50 mph.

The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Red Flag
Warning for lightning, which is in effect from noon MDT /11 AM
PDT/ today to 9 PM MDT /8 PM PDT/ this evening. The Fire Weather
Watch is no longer in effect.

* AFFECTED AREA…In Idaho, Fire Weather Zones 403 Northern
Boise National Forest, 421 Southern Boise/Western Sawtooth NF
and including the Camas Prairie. In Oregon, Fire Weather Zones
670 Burns BLM, 671 Steens Mountain, 674 Northwestern Vale BLM
and 675 Baker Valley.

* TIMING…From noon MDT /11 AM PDT/ today to 9 PM MDT /8 PM
PDT/ this evening.

* THUNDERSTORMS…Scattered coverage with abundant lightning.

* OUTFLOW WINDS…Gusty erratic winds up to 50 mph.

* IMPACTS…Any fire that develops will catch and spread
quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will occur shortly.
