The Thunder Ridge Titans secure a 30-6 victory in the Berger Bowl

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) – The Thunder Ridge Titans defeated the Skyline Grizzlies 30-6 in the Berger Bowl on Friday at Thunder Ridge. Head coach Michael Berger led the Titans to the victory over his father Scott Berger's Skyline Grizzlies.

During Skyline's opening drive, Thunder Ridge junior Beckham Porter intercepted a pass thrown by John Giannini, but the play was negated by a 15-yard roughing the passer penalty. The penalty awarded the Grizzlies a first down to extend the possession.

Skyline's drive eventually stalled on a fourth-down play from the Titans' 11-yard line. Giannini, scanned the field, and fired a ball toward the endzone, but Thunder Ridge senior Jackson Radford undercut the route for the interception, with no flags in sight this time.

On the ensuing possession, Thunder Ridge went right down the field. Titans' quarterback Ryder Portmann scrambled up the middle one play, fighting through contact at the end of the run to reach Skyline's 5-yard line. Two plays later, Portmann threw a touchdown pass to our All-American Cleaning & Restoration Athlete of the Week McKay Scoresby for the opening score of the game.

Thunder Ridge wins 30-6, and Michael Berger earns his first win over his father Scott in the Berger Bowl.
