All-American Cleaning & Restoration Athlete of the Week – Jaxton Briggs – Sep. 24, 2026

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) – Quarterback Jaxton Briggs led the Bonneville Bees to a win over the Blackfoot Broncos on September 18th, and he was responsible for all three of the team's touchdowns. The win brought Bonneville to a 2-2 record on the season after starting the year 0-2. Jaxton is our All-American Cleaning & Restoration Athlete of the Week.

The victory over Blackfoot marks the second consecutive win for the Bees. After the 0-2 start, including losses to Skyline and Thunder Ridge, the Bees turned things around with a 28-6 win over Burley, before carrying that momentum into the matchup against Blackfoot.

Bonneville head coach Shane Stephenson praised the team's continuous progress following their early challenges, noting the steady growth of the squad as they evened their record.

“Every week it's just getting better and better,” Stephenson said.

Stephenson described Briggs as an impactful player who is more so a "lead by example" type of player, letting his play on the field serve as an example to his teammates. In the game against Blackfoot, Briggs accounted for all three of the team's touchdowns, recording one passing touchdown and two rushing touchdowns.

“He's more of a quiet type, kinda lead by example,” Stephenson said. “Really, he had to take the reins of this game, put it on his shoulders and he did it by using his feet, passing and all sorts of stuff. So it was just, it was huge for him.”

Briggs reflected on the offensive breakthroughs during the victory over Blackfoot, saying that early on in the season the team struggled to convert its possessions into touchdowns.

“It felt good…” Briggs said. “During the first three games of the season, we were moving the ball really well, but we just couldn't seem to finish, so just finally ending our drives in touchdowns meant a lot.”

The team faced early adversity after opening the season with those back-to-back defeats. Briggs acknowledged the initial frustration before the team rallied together to fight back to .500.

“After those two losses, I feel like the whole team kind of felt discouraged,” Briggs said. “That's not how you want to start.”

Briggs says the team's great week of practice leading up to the game helped give them the momentum they needed to pull off the win.

“We had a great week of practice going into Blackfoot, so we felt pretty confident, so just having that just kind of day-by-day mentality… I feel like that was the biggest key for us,” Briggs said. “Starting 0-2 and just grinding back and now we're 2-2, and it feels like a whole new season.”
