Mackay Miners secure 80-26 win over Watersprings Warriors

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) – The Mackay Miners defeated the Watersprings Warriors 80-26 in a 1A eight-man contest tonight. It was Homecoming for Watersprings.

During the 2nd quarter, with the Miners already up 30-14, Mackay quarterback Peyton Teichert completed a pass to Jesse Barger to earn a first down for the Miners. On the following play, Grayden Bruley took a hand-off and ran down near the Warriors' 15-yard line.

A few plays later, Mackay called a toss play to Roy Jones, who cut upfield and ran into the end zone for an apparent touchdown. However, a holding penalty negated the score.

The Miners responded by advancing inside the 5-yard line after a few plays. Then, Bruley scored on a touchdown run, putting Mackay ahead 36-14 before the team closed out the 80-26 victory.
