All-American Cleaning & Restoration Athlete of the Week – Brinley Nelson & Kenlee Jarrell – Oct. 15, 2026

AMMON, Idaho (KIFI) – The Hillcrest Knights girls soccer team captured its third consecutive district championship with a 3-1 victory over Skyline on Saturday, October 10th. Seniors Brinley Nelson and Kenlee Jarrell accounted for all three of those goals, and are the All-American Cleaning & Restoration Athletes of the Week.

Nelson scored her second goal of the game from around 20 yards out. Her first goal of the game was scored directly off a corner kick. “I curved it in, so yeah, just straight from the corner kick,” Nelson said.

Jarrell scored on a header following a rebound to push the lead to 3-1. “We got a corner kick and Brinley takes the corners and she hit it,” Jarrell said. “The goalie punched it out and I followed it in with a head and it was pretty awesome.”

Both Nelson and Jarrell are four-year varsity starters and team captains for the Knights. The Hillcrest Knights head coach, Brian Nelson, noted their longtime presence on the roster. “Brinley, Kenlee, both have been part of this group for the last four years,” the head coach said. “Both phenomenal players. Night in and night out they do what they're asked, and they are both captains on the team. They've shown leadership to the younger girls.”

Head coach Nelson praised the connections between the two seniors and their teammates on and off the field. “I think they love playing together,” the head coach said. “That Hillcrest camaraderie and team unity, the oneness that we describe, that's who they are.”

The Knights are now turning their attention to the upcoming 5A state championship tournament. A state title win would mark the first in the history of the Hillcrest girls soccer program.

Jarrell expressed the team's commitment to competing for the title. “I think we're all looking for a state championship,” she said. “All of us on the team want it really bad. So we're going to work really hard for it.”

Nelson emphasized that team focus will be crucial during tournament play. “Everybody on our team is just amazing and always plays,” Nelson said. “So good night in and night out. So if we can just do that and everybody comes in focused and ready for the game and with that intensity, then we'll be good.”

The 5A girls state tournament begins October 22nd in Sandpoint, Idaho.
