Nori Jones’ Story

Local News 8 wanted to share the story on Nori Jones and what happened back in 2004.

25-year-old Nori Jones was founded murdered in her home. The unsolved murder case happened in 2004. Jones worked for the Idaho Department of Commerce and Labor. It was when she didn’t show up for work that co-workers became suspicious. They came looking for her at her house and that’s when they found her body.

Co-workers found Jones on September 28th. They called the Pocatello Police around 9 am. Lieutenant Brad Hunt spoke with us back in 2004.

“They were concerned about a co-worker who had not shown up for work. Those co-workers had responded to a residence on Pole Line to check on the co-worker and upon entry to the house they found that the co-worker was diseased,” said Lieutenant Brad Hunt, Pocatello Police Department.

Jones was engaged to be married two weeks before her death. Neighbors said she was a friendly and caring woman. They said she lived alone and was renting the house.

Pocatello Police said they scrubbed every inch of the house looking for clues. The preliminary results from the State Crime Lab proved inconclusive.

Jones was reportedly stabbed multiple times.

“Fortunately, in this community, we don’t have a lot of homicides. If we have one or two a year, that’s high so this is an out-of-the-ordinary situation and certainly not common,” said Lieutenant Brad Hunt.

Police are still hoping to find justice for Nori Jones. They said it’s a continuing investigation.

Pocatello Police said they’re still looking for suspects and no suspects have been named yet.
