Police: Man Kicks Out Patrol Car Window

Pocatello police said an Idaho Falls man kicked a window out of a patrol car Sunday night.

Derek Furniss, 31, was arrested at Portneuf Medical Center after police said he was driving while intoxicated and provided alcohol to at least one minor.

According to police, Furniss kicked a rear window out of the patrol car, battered one of the officers when they were trying to get him under control and head butted a digital recorder, smashing it.

In addition to the alcohol-related charges, Furniss is charged with two counts of malicious injury to property and one count of battery upon an officer.

He is being held in the Bannock County Jail.
