Deadman Fire Contained

Bureau of Land Management and Idaho National Laboratory firefighters have contained an 11-acre range fire. The “Deadman Fire” was believed started by lightning about 8 miles east of Arco Sunday.

The fire was creeping through a Juniper/Sagebrush area in difficult terrain that limited some access. At its peak, two engines and nine firefighters were battling the blaze. It was contained at around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday. No structures or private property were threatened.
