Rexburg Paint Vandalism Investigated

A vehicle parked on Carlson Avenue was the latest victim in a recent series of paint vandalism incidents in Rexburg. Police say an unknown person spray painted the vehicle Thursday.

Capt. Randy Lewis says there have been several similar incidents involving vehicles, walls, and fences over the past few weeks. In most cases, the vandalism has been misdemeanor level offense, but rises to felony level if damage exceeds $1,000.

Several people have been arrested in similar cases, ranging from children to adults, but Lewis says it does not appear to be part of any sort of organized spree.
