Pocatello Police Use Tasers Twice Over Weekend

Pocatello police used a Taser to subdue two people this weekend in two separate incidents over the weekend.

The first, Troy Alexander, was subdued on the 900 block of Wingate.

Police first went to the home for a noise complaint. While talking with Alexander on the front steps, they found he had an outstanding warrant.

When police told him he was under arrest, they say Alexander tried to run back into the house.

Officers grabbed him and wrestled him to the ground, where he got a cut on his head. Police said he continued to fight them and had to use a Taser gun on him.

In another incident, police said Dawson Smith challenged them to a fight in the parking lot of Club 91 on Yellowstone.

According to police, Smith threatened them and fought them as he was being arrested. Officers then used a Taser on Smith to subdue him before taking him to jail.
