Local nonprofit wins new Toyota

A local nonprofit gets a boost from an area car dealership.

Teton Toyota handed over a brand-new Tundra, free of charge, to the directors of Craighead Beringia South.

Craighead Beringia is a conservation group which does wildlife research and education based in Kelly, Wyo.

The free Tundra is part of Toyota’s “100 Cars for Good” giveaway for nonprofit organizations nationwide.

Craighead Beringia’s director, Derek Craighead, had to submit an online video to be considered for the new car, but he was not expecting to be chosen.

“A brand-new vehicle like this would normally be out of our reach. We’re not that big of an organization,” Craighead said. “We just can’t believe it! We’re so excited!”

Craighead Beringia South was the 60th nonprofit to win a new car.

The Lemhi County Humane Society also received a new Toyota as part of the giveaway.
