Flat tire causes motorcycle crash near Idaho Falls

A man was hospitalized in a motorcycle accident near Idaho Falls early Wednesday morning.

Ronald Swanson, 63, of Idaho Falls, was driving west on U.S. Highway 20 on a 2008 Honda motorcycle. Around 6 a.m. near milepost 292, the rear tire blew, and Swanson lost control of the motorcycle and came to rest in the eastbound lane of travel on the highway.

Idaho State Police said Swanson was not wearing a helmet. He was transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
