Light earthquake shakes Wyo. and Idaho

A magnitude 3.6 earthquake shook eastern Idaho and western Wyoming late Wednesday night.

There were no immediate reports of damage to the quake, which occurred at 11:23 p.m.

The quake’s epicenter was about 14 miles northwest of Afton, Wyo., and 63 miles east of Pocatello and Idaho Falls.

There were 30 reports submitted to the USGS of those who felt the quake. All came from western Wyoming. Folks in Grover, Thayne and Afton reported feeling the shaking.

Earlier this month, two small earthquakes, of respective magnitudes 4.2 and 3.6, rattled Lava Hot Springs.
