Suspect leads deputies on foot chase

An Idaho Falls man led Bonneville County deputies on a foot chase through a residential neighborhood Friday, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputy Sgt. Chris Smith said deputies began looking for Tyler Chambly, 18, after a controlled substance was found at his home.

Chambly was spotted by a deputy in the area of First Street and Caribou. While attempting to avoid officers, Chambly jumped into a canal and ran into an adjacent neighborhood, the sheriff’s office said.

Smith said the deputy used a Taser to take Chambly into custody. He was arrested at 11:30 a.m. on charges of resisting and obstructing a police officer and possession of a controlled substance.
