June is Here

Temps keep rising this week, thanks for high pressure. Very dry conditions and light winds and non-stop sun will hike afternoons from the low 80's today to low 90's by week's end. A weak disturbance brings a cool down with some cloudiness by Saturday/Sunday and winds will pick up with highs in the 80's Saturday and 70's Sunday with limited shower/storm chances for the valley.

Another warm, dry day with a chilly start but a quick blast in to the 80's for the afternoon.
We are in the upper 50's for THIS morning headed toward 80 for some. Thanks for watching and welcome Dylan Carter to the big early show.

High pressure will continue to build and it things will heat up around the region. We expect some possible heat advisories for Thursday, esp. into the Magic Valley. An excessive heat watch through Thursday for Twin Falls, Boise areas foreshadowing the mid-to-upper 90 temperatures we are forecasting. Mountains may receive a quick thunderstorm Thursday as we head toward low to mid 90's for our area.

Mild cooling at night will take us into the 50's and lower 60's. Temperatures will drop overnight in the 50s to
low 60s which will help with afternoon heating, however, highs for local areas will be 10-20 degrees above seasonal values through Friday.

Hot, sunny, dry with a return to cooler temperatures by weekend. Winds will be light shifting SW this afternoon 5-10 and we'll have highs in the mid 80's. Grab sunglasses and sunscreen and be safe in natural waterways, hypothermia is a danger. Currents in canals also are a concern. With hot and dry conditions, wildfire danger again presents itself as
a major threat. Please be safe and cautious and download the KIFI weather app to stay in touch. Send us pictures and share your front porch view with me. Jeffroper@localnews8.com
