Rexburg Kmart to close its doors
Rexburg’s Kmart store will close in mid-July.
According to a statement to Local News 8 from Sears Holdings on Wednesday, the store has 63 employees.
Most of the store associates are part-time and hourly. Eligible employees will get severance pay and will be able to apply to other Sears or Kmart stores.
“Store closures are part of a series of actions we’re taking to reduce on-going expenses, adjust our asset base and accelerate the transformation of our business model,” said Director of Corporate Communications Howard Riefs.
The store will begin its liquidation sale May 4.
