MAD Marathon begins tomorrow
The fifth annual Making a Difference, or MAD, Marathon is happening tomorrow.Registration packets were available at Bill’s Bike and Run on Friday.
Participants from over 30 states and even Australia and Canada will be running. The MAD Marathon will be partnered with CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocates. This organization is made up of volunteers who are sent to watch over and help mediate for children who enter the court system.
All benefits from this race will go to help the local CASA organization.
There will be a full marathon, half-marathon, 5K and children’s fun run, so there’s a race for everyone.
Lezhai Gulbransen, organizer of MAD Marathon said, “With MAD, with making a difference, we also want to make a difference for our participants. A lot of our participants are first time running a marathon or a full marathon. It can be intimidating; it can be scary. So we will be here at the finish line, we champion everyone that crosses. We don’t shut everything down if they don’t cross. It’s something that we want to be there for our participants and for our community.”
Registration will continue until the race start Saturday morning. If you are interested in being a part of one of the MAD Marathon races, click here.
