Bonneville High School student council named best in state

The Bonneville High School student council has been named best in the state.

This is the second time that the council entered this competition and the second time it has placed first.

“Student council, we try to set really high goals and we want to make sure we’re serving the student body the best we can,” student body president, Whitney Johnson said. “And a good way to channel that, is through the Idaho state portfolio.”

To be eligible for this award, a student council has to submit a professional portfolio that tracks all of it’s leadership activities done throughout the year.

Those include everything from community service projects to school spirit activities.

Student council members said it took a lot of work, but it was well worth it.

“It’s super awesome, I think overall as a student council, it makes us really proud knowing we’re making a difference and that not just our students seeing it, but the state level is seeing it as well,” Johnson said.
