Rexburg police officer involved in wreck

Update:

Idaho State Police report no one was seriously hurt during a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of University Boulevard and South Yellowstone Highway in Rexburg.

According to ISP investigators, Rexburg Police Officer Wright was responding to a call in a marked patrol vehicle. He was traveling eastbound on University Boulevard and entered the intersection of South Yellowstone Highway with his emergency lights activated.

The second driver, Kerrey Johnson, 38, of Idaho Falls was northbound on South Yellowstone in a Mitsubish Galant and entered the intersection.

The two vehicles collided in the center of the intersection.

Investigation is continuing.

Two people including a Rexburg police officer were involved in a car accident Saturday morning.

According to police it happened just before 9 a.m. at the intersection of University Boulevard and South Yellowstone in Rexburg.

Police said they still don’t know who is at fault, but it appears one of the drivers failed to yield at the intersection.

Police said the drivers do not have any major injuries. Both cars are totaled.
