UPDATE: Police find missing Idaho Falls man

Officers found a missing 20-year-old Idaho Falls man safe near Bowlero Lanes on First Street Friday morning.

Chase Johnson was found hours after he was reported missing Thursday night thanks to a citizen tip.

According to reports, the police department began searching for Johnson, a vulnerable adult, around 9:40 p.m. The family reported Johnson had left the house and they did not know his where he had gone.

Members of the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, Bonneville County Search and Rescue, Idaho State Police, Life Flight out of Rexburg and the Idaho Falls Fire Department joined in the search. A search and rescue dog was also utilized.

The police department issued a Code Red notification with a three-mile radius at 1:23 a.m. A second Code Red notification expanded that to a five-mile radius at 7:23 a.m.

After the second notification, officers received information from a citizen who reported seeing Johnson in the 900 block of First Street. Police made contact with Johnson in the 600 block of First Street around 7:40 a.m.
