Rubio holds rally at airport

Presidential hopeful Sen. Marco Rubio stopped in Idaho Falls Sunday . He won the Puerto Rico Republican Primary and he’s vying for the Idaho vote on Tuesday .

His rival, Sen. Ted Cruz, wants to abolish the Department of Energy. If that happened, it would cost thousands of jobs here in southeastern Idaho. which could be why Rubio discussed nuclear energy and the Idaho National Laboratory.

“I know Idaho,” said Sen. Jim Risch, “I know Marco Rubio. This is the right man for Idaho.”
Rubio was introduced by Risch, his friend on both the Senate Intelligence and Senate Foreign Affairs commitees.

The self-proclaimed child of the Reagan Revolution spoke to hundreds at the Idaho Falls Regional Airport.
“I really liked what he had to say,” said Clay Scott.
Rubio’s conservative values ring well in the red state of Idaho but the GOP candidate says he is on a mission to stand out from his Republican opponents.
“If in this election you elect the right person, if in this election you elect me,” said Rubio.

“I just feel like Marco has such a presence,” said Kati Pyper. “He does such a good job representing conservative values.”

Some say they appreciate that he took into account what matters to Idahoans.
“The national lab is located nearby, a place that is critical to our future. Not just as a nuclear deterrent but to power our nuclear submarines and ships,” Rubio said.

“I really liked that he talked about establishing more nuclear energy in this country. We are spending way too much money out-sourcing the energy,” Scott said.

Rubio also held a rally in Boise, Cruz was also in IdahoSaturday night , but Donald Trump has yet to make an appearance.
Republicans will make their voices heard Tuesday .
The Idaho Presidential Caucus is March 22.
