Fiber optic lines being installed in Blackfoot

Blackfoot Urban Renewal Agency is working with Optics, a local fiber company, to put the lines in the city.

Mayor Paul Looms said a lot of businesses and people are interested in connecting to the lines.

He also says this will make Blackfoot more enticing to new businesses and development.

“It’s a huge economic development tool,” he said. “To be able to provide the continuity and connectivity that is needed for modern business is, it’s critical, so this will put us on a level playing field with the cities that have this capability. “
