I-15 blocked by potato truck rollover Wednesday

Interstate 15 was blocked shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday after a 2003 Peterbilt semi-truck loaded with fresh potatoes tipped over.

According to Idaho State Police, the driver, 53-year-old Todd Eaton of Menan failed to negotiate the curve and the vehicle tipped over. Eaton was taken by ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Reports on the scene indicated he suffered a broken shoulder.

The rollover happened in the southbound lane of Interstate 15 at milepost 119 in Idaho Falls.

Both southbound lanes of the interstate were blocked for approximately 3.5 hours.

The crash is still under investigation.
