Popular Chubbuck bakery reopens

A local bakery is open again just in time for Easter weekend.

Geraldine’s Bakery and Deli in Chubbuck is back open for business.

Geraldine’s shut down in January after an elderly woman accidentally crashed her car through the front entrance.

The bakery was closed for seven weeks for remodeling. The bakery owner, John Horsley, said the cost of employees’ lost wages and business interruptions was covered by the insurance companies. Horsley said business has been great since he reopened the shop.

“There was a lot of support in the community from individual customers that kept asking and wanting to support us once we reopened,” said Horsley. “And so we’re very happy to have people back.”

As part of the remodel, the bakery updated its bathrooms and put in new concrete floors.
