Update: Woman arrested after crash investigation
Update 5:50 p.m: Idaho State Police have arrested 19-year-old Serena Zahrn, of Rigby, on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia after she crashed her car early Monday morning.
Zahrn was driving eastbound when she crashed her 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix after driving through the median and crossing the westbound lanes of Highway 20. She was treated for injuries at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and then released.
Zahrn was arrested after her release from EIRMC and is currently in the custody of the Jefferson County jail pending more charges.
Original story: Idaho State Police are investigating whether drugs or alcohol were involved in a rollover wreck that occurred on Highway 20.
ISP said that a white Pontiac with a one female driver and no passengers was heading towards Rexburg when it crossed the median and the driver lost control of the car landing in a ditch near exit 318 County Line Road.
Idaho State Police Trooper Josh Wrathall said the extent of her injuries are unknown and that she was transported to a near by hospital.
“She says she blacked out and doesn’t remember anything. After leaving the median she went towards on coming traffic, luckily not hitting anyone,” Wrathall said.
Wrathall also said when police responded to the crash they had to cut the women out of her seat belt.
ISP is continuing to investigate the crash.
