Crash on I-15 north of Blackfoot sends 4 to hospital

The Idaho State Police are investigating a crash on I-15 that sent 4 people to the hospital.

Thursday afternoon, at approximately 12:45 p.m., the Idaho State Police responded to a two-vehicle injury crash on southbound I15 at milepost 93, near Blackfoot. ISP says Roland Smith, 82, of Idaho Falls, was driving a 2010 Infinity passenger vehicle southbound on I15. Dwight Petersen, 70, of Blackfoot, was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pickup. Petersen was merging onto I15 at milepost 93 in front of Smith and he collided into Petersen.

ISP says all passengers and drivers involved in the crash were wearing their seatbelts.

Smith was transported by ground ambulance to Bingham Memorial. Petersen and his two passengers, Nancy Godfrey, 60, of Blackfoot and Geoffrey Godfrey, 40, of Bozeman, MT were transported by private vehicle to Bingham Memorial.

The crash is under investigation at this time
