Man arrested after threatening another man with butcher knife

An Idaho Falls man was arrested for aggravated assault after he entered another man’s home and threatened him with a butcher knife.

Idaho Falls Police arrested 22-year-old Cody T. Elson for aggravated assault early Monday morning. Elson was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.

According to reports, officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Hillview Avenue around 3:20 a.m. for an assault. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated Elson and he had been in an argument earlier Sunday evening at another residence. The victim said he left and returned to his residence in the 1000 block of Hillview. He went to bed, but was awoken around 3 a.m. and found Elson in his home. An argument ensued, during which Elson threatened the victim with a butcher knife.
