Teton County motor vehicle office closed

The Idaho Division of Motor Vehicles has temporarily closed the Teton County office in Driggs.

The office is converting to new software for driver’s licenses, identification cards, and various permits.

The department is implementing a new software system and attempting to resolve problems believed to be caused by bandwidth restrictions at the offices.

“Our main priority is getting the office up and running again,” said Alan Frew, Idaho Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Administrator. “The software developer is working closely with us to develop a solution as quickly as possible.”

DMV began coverting to the new software in mid-October and announced potential slowdowns at all county offices. Any customers who can have been asked to wait a few weeks to renew licenses, ID cards, and permits, unless they are expiring soon.
