Man arrested for leaving kid in car while drinking at Pocatello bar

Pocatello Police have arrested a man after he left the 4-year-old girl he was babysitting in the car while he went inside a bar to drink.

27-year-old Robert Curtis Faulkner was arrested Saturday evening for misdemeanor injury to a child. Faulkner was booked into the Bannock County Jail.

Officers were called to 300 North Union Pacific Avenue Saturday evening after it was reported that a child was walking around a parking lot unattended. Shortly before officers arrived witnesses say they saw Faulkner exit a nearby bar and put the child into a car before returning to the bar.

Officers found the child and after checking that she was fine, contacted her mother. The mother told them that Faulkner was supposed to be babysitting the child. Officers contacted Faulkner and took him into custody.
