Man arrested for drug charges after trying to elude IF police

Idaho Falls Police arrested a man on several drug charges Monday after he tried to elude officers.

62‐year‐old David E. Buchholz was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance and felony destruction of evidence following a traffic stop early Tuesday morning. Buchholz of Idaho Falls was also booked into the Bonneville County Jail for misdemeanor eluding, driving without privileges, no proof of insurance, possession of drug paraphernalia and two warrants.

According to the police report, officers attempted to stop a silver Oldsmobile Alero, driven by Buchholz, near Woodruff and John Adams Parkway around 12:24 a.m. Buchholz stopped briefly before attempting to elude police. He eventually stopped again in the 900 block of Hoopes. During the stop, officers learned Buchholz had two warrants and a suspended driver’s license. It was also learned he threw Methamphetamine out the vehicle window before stopping for police.
