BYU-Idaho names first female vice-president

BYU-Idaho President Clark Gilbert has selected Amy R. Labaugh as the next Student Life Vice President. Labaugh has served as Student Development Managing Director and becomes the university’s first female vice-president.

She will replace Kevin Miyasaki, who is retiring from BYU-Idaho after 24 years. Barbara White has served as Interim Student Life Vice President and will be leaving the university at the end of November.

Gilbert made the announcement in an e-mail to BYU-Idaho campus employees last week.

In it, he said, “I believe Amy’s background and personal leadership prepare her particularly well for this time and season as we look at issues and opportunities facing our students. She will assume this position effective immediately.”
