Winds cause travel, power problems in Wyoming
High winds gusting over 80 mph plagued most of central and southeast Wyoming for a second straight day, blowing trucks over on highways and causing power outages.
The Wyoming Department of Transportation says a 70-mile stretch of the westbound lane of Interstate 80 west of Laramie was closed Tuesday morning because at least five trucks had blown over.
The agency reported wind gusts exceeding 60 mph between Laramie and Walcott Junction.
On Monday night, the college basketball game between the University of Wyoming and Troy at Laramie was delayed about two hours by a power outage.
In northwest Wyoming, a winter storm warning was posted for the Jackson Hole area, where up to 8 inches of snow was possible Tuesday.
