Men arrested for fatal shooting of Idaho teen
Police in Idaho say they have arrested two suspects in the fatal drive-by shooting of a teenager.
The Times-News reports that police arrested the men, ages 19 and 20, for killing 15-year-old Vason Widaman while he was riding a bicycle in the daytime near Canyon Ridge High School.
The shooting was May 7 and it’s not clear yet what new evidence led police to make an arrest in the case.
County Prosecutor Grant Loebs tells the Times-News that both men will be formally charged Wednesday with murder or aiding and abetting murder. They will also both face charges of intimidating a witness.
One man was arrested after an hour-long standoff with a police SWAT team. Another was taken into custody during a traffic stop.
