IRWIN, Pennsylvania (WTAE) — A longtime employee at a McDonald’s in Westmoreland County has died at the age of 100.

Ruthie Shuster worked at the McDonald’s on Route 30 in Irwin for a quarter-century.

Coworkers said there was “nobody like her” and she always greeted everyone who came in to the restaurant.

“The McFamily has lost an effervescent light today. Ruthie Shuster’s sunny optimism brought joy to everyone who knew her. We treasure her vivacious spirit in our memories and offer our deepest sympathies to her loved ones,” said Michael Delligatti, Owner/Operator of the McDonald’s Big Mac Museum.

Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 was there last February when the restaurant celebrated Ruthie’s 100th birthday.
