Crash sends 2 to the hospital

JEROME, Idaho (KIFI) - Idaho State Police is investigating a crash that occurred on Tuesday at approximately 8:20 p.m.

This crash occurred on US Highway 93 at approximately milepost 61, in Jerome, Idaho.

A 29 year old female was driving southbound on US Highway 93 in a Toyota Corolla. A 21 year old female was driving northbound on US 93 in a 2002 Volkswagen Passat. The driver of the Toyota crossed over the center line, striking the Volkswagen head-on.

The driver of the Volkswagen was wearing a seatbelt. She was transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. The driver of the Toyota was not wearing a seatbelt. She was transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Idaho State Police was assisted by Jerome County Sheriff's Office and Magic Valley Paramedics. The northbound lanes of travel were blocked for approximately three hours.

The crash investigation is continuing.
