Food for Friends giveaway Week 7
We want to announce our “Food for Friends” winner for our final Week 7. Brandi Sweeney is our winner this week from our website. She wins a $200 gift card from Albertsons. For every gift card it gives away on our website, Albertsons will match that same amount for a local family in need.
KIDK Eyewitness News 3 gave that gift card away Wednesday too. With the help of Beverly at the North Bingham County Community Food Bank, we found a woman we’ll call “Sandra.” She and her husband care for nine people in their household. It’s a lot of work.
“Today’s day and age, we all have the challenge of making ends meet. How do you pull that off?” asked KIDK Eyewitness News 3 anchor Todd Kunz.
“Well, I am a believer of God. And I believe he put these people in my path for a reason and He is the one who supplies so we are able to take care of them,” said Sandra.
“What’s the biggest challenge?” asked Kunz.
“Feeding them,” replied Sandra.
“Really? The cost of groceries these days doesn’t help,” said Kunz.
“It doesn’t, but I thank God that places like this food bank help a lot. Because I believe they are a necessity, especially in our day and age, like you said, everything is so expensive, but we’re OK. So far, so good,” said Sandra.
“OK, we want to help you out. We have teamed up with Alberstons and we are going to present this for you. It is a $200 gift certificate to Albertstons just to help things stretch a little further,” said Kunz, handing her a gift certificate.
“That’s wonderful. Thank you. That’s a true blessing. Thank you,” said Sandra.
“It comes at good time,” said Kunz.
“It sure does,” replied Sandra.
“OK, Sandra. Well you enjoy it and back-to-school time now and everything, we hope this helps. Again, from Albertsons and Channel 3 and we just want to wish you this best,” said Kunz.
“Thank you so much. God bless you,” said Sandra.
