Shelley and Firth H.S. Key Cubs made more than 250 boxes of food to donate

More than 250 food boxes are now stocked for families in need this holiday season. The Shelley-Firth Kiwanis Club, and the Shelley High School and Firth High School Key Clubs held their annual Christmas food drive Wednesday.

All three organizations came together to help with the Goodfellow Fund to raise money for this project. At least 267 families in the Firth-Shelley community will be gifted with a box of food for the holidays.

“Those names have come in from school teachers, from school counselors. They have come in from different community members, from bishops from wards from different churches so we know thse families that are in need,” said Shelley High School Key Club director Cheryl Foster.

“We have a big group of Key Club members and it’s good to see Firth and Shelley coming together. It always feels good doing service. It never disappoints,” said Ben Robinson, Firth High School’s Key Club vice president.

Key Club is the student organization for Kiwanis Club in the area. What the Kiwanis Club needs help with, the student Key Clubs are there to provide service.
