Fire destroys Bonneville County home

(BONNEVILLE COUNTY - KIFI ) Fire crews worked to extinguish a Saturday night house fire just outside the Ammon city limits.

Firefighters were called just before 10:30 p.m., to a home at the corner of Moonstone Drive and Greenwillow Lane.

The home appears to have suffered severe damage throughout the structure, with the worst damage seen in the garage and kitchen side of the home. An RV in the driveway was also heavily burned and damaged.

Three people were home when the fire stared, but were able to evacuate safely without any injuries.

Kerry Hammon, with the Idaho Falls Fire Department says, when Firefighters arrived they reported the garage was fully involved with fire. "The flames extended from the garage into the attic space of the home. There was extensive damage to the kitchen and living room and smoke damage throughout the home. An RV, vehicle and an enclosed trailer located in the driveway next to the home were also damaged by the fire. There were no injuries to firefighters."

The cause is being investigated and the damages are estimated at $150,000.
