Challis native shines in a big first night of action at the 111th War Bonnet Round Up

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - On the first night of pro events at the 111th War Bonnet Round Up, a saddle-bronc rider from Challis had one of the highlights of the day to take a big lead in the competition.

Kade Bruno put on a show, staying on his horse the full time and picking up a score of 90 points, one point shy of tying the War Bonnet record.

Also happening Thursday night, Malad native Olin Hannum holds the lead in steer wrestling with a time of 4.2 seconds, and Tristan Hansen has the advantage in the bareback riding with 80 points.

The War Bonnet Round Up continues Friday night, with gates opening at 4:30 p.m., the youth rodeo beginning at 6:00 p.m., and the pros take center stage at 7:00 p.m.
