EDMOND, Oklahoma (KOCO) — An Edmond woman achieved her childhood dream of skating for Disney.
The woman is originally from the Edmond area but trained in Oklahoma City.
“I’ve wanted to be in Disney On Ice since I was 12 years old so when I finally got the call that I made it after my audition it was wonderful,” said Jade Aubuchon, a 19-year-old Disney On Ice skater. “It has been so much fun and an absolute dream come true.”
Oklahoma City is one of the first stops on the tour for Disney On Ice presents Road Trip Adventures.
“I’m from Tennessee but I lived here the other half of my life, and I started skating here. So, being back has been surreal,” Aubuchon said.
“It was very rigorous, I skated at least five or six days a week and I skated for at least three hours a day,” Aubuchon said.
She has a message for young skaters.
“I was not the 3-year-old that started skating, but I never gave up. And I always worked hard, and I accomplished everything I wanted to,” Aubuchon said.
The show will happen the first weekend of the Oklahoma State Fair, starting Sept. 15.
