Bannock County Crisis Center has a new name

The newly named South East Idaho Behavioral Crisis Center will open this spring in renovated clinic space in the City Center Campus building at 1001 North 7th Avenue in Pocatello. The center’s primary contractor, Rehabilitate Health Services (RHS) met with Bannock County Commissioners, Portneuf Health Trust and others to pick a name for the center.

The center will operate daily and year-round to serve Bannock, Bear Lake, Bingham, Caribou, Franklin, Oneida and Power Counties.

It will help adults in crisis with mental health challenges and substance abuse issues become stabilized, then connect them with community resources.

Matt Hardin has been named Executive Director of the facility and will begin to hire a staff of up to 25 people, including case managers, nurses, paramedics, Psych technicians, peer support, recovery coaches, security and other key positions. Bannock County is currently seeking a physician, health professional, behavioral health consumer, and member-at-large to serve on a governing board.
