Seven people hospitalized in US 20 crash

Seven people were hospitalized when a Toyota Camry struck a boat trailer at the intersection of US 20 and State Highway 47 in Ashton at 8:02 p.m. Monday.
Idaho State Police said Darin, Jordan, 43, of Idaho Falls was driving west bound on State Highway 47 in the 2002 Camry.
Layne Polatis, 46, of Blackfoot was eastbound in a 2005 Ford Excursion, pulling a trailer with a boat on it.
Jack Hendren, 58, of Rexburg was westbound on US 20 in a 2000 Ford Focus.
Idaho State Police said Jordan failed to stop at the intersection and struck the boat trailer. The boat became dislodged and landed on top of the Ford Focus, which came to rest on its side. The Excursion rolled onto its top.
Polatis was transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) in Idaho Falls.
Two juvenile passengers in Polatis’ Excursion were transported by air ambulance to EIRMC. Three other juvenile passengers of the Excursion were taken by ground ambulance to Madison Memorial in Rexburg, and later transported to EIRMC by ground ambulance.
Jordan was taken to Madison Memorial by ground ambulance.
Both lanes of US 20 were blocked for approximately three hours.
