16-year-old opens a new business in Idaho Falls

While most teenagers are out enjoying every last second that is left of their summer vacation, an Idaho Falls 16-year-old decided to open up a business.

“Kids my age normally don’t do this, so it’s kind of exciting doing something that everybody else hasn’t done before,” said owner of Frasure’s, Jake Frasure.

Frasure ditched the typical teenage summer life for a business named after his last name.

“I just opened this trailer on Monday, we’ve made our menu right here, different types of coffee, slushies and donuts things like that,” Frasure said.

Frasure’s parents own Diamond Quality Trailers, which is the lot his new coffee trailer is on.

One day they suggested he should open up a trailer business on their property and since that moment, recipes began to be tested, licenses were purchased and ‘Frasure’s’ became a reality.

How does a 16-year-old finance a business you ask?

Frasure says, “I’ve been saving up for a few years, I’ve been working at Diamond Quality trailers and my parents helped me a little.”

His parents aren’t the only one supporting his new business, his friends are still including him in their summer plans.

“They come and support me and buy drinks every once in a while,” Frasure said.

As for the future of ‘Frasure’s’, Jake hopes the business will continue to grow and dreams of having a brick-and-mortar one day.

However, making drinks isn’t the only thing he plans to do in his future, he wants to become a pilot and is hoping ‘Frasure’s’ will help him achieve that goal.

“I think it’s going to help me pay for college because college is going to be very expensive.”

When school starts, Frasure says his mom plans to continue running the business for him.

Frasure’s is located at 2759 N Holmes Ave.
