NEWBERRY, South Carolina (WYFF) — A deer hunter in Newberry, South Carolina, found a missing 2-year-old on Sunday after hearing her cry, according to the sheriff’s office.
The child was reported missing about 3 p.m. from the area of Highway 391 outside Prosperity.
Authorities say around 6 p.m., a deer hunter heard the little girl crying and called 911.
With the help of mapping technology, the information was given to a South Carolina Law Enforcement Division helicopter and the first responders.
A search team found the hunters and the little girl in a wooded area almost a mile from her home, deputies said.
Other than being tired, thirsty, and frightened, the little girl was in good shape, deputies said.
