Idaho Falls Cleans Up Around Town

Many folks have gotten a head start on spring cleaning and the City of Idaho Falls wants to make it a little easier for residents who might want to get rid of unwanted items.

Idaho Falls Mayor Jared Fuhriman declared May 5-12 as citywide clean up week.

Two Dumpsters have been put in over 10 locations throughout the city, so residents can get rid of items they no longer want or need, conveniently.

Organizers say whether you have an old couch in your backyard or household waste in the garage, Bonneville County residents are encouraged to tidy their homes, yards and neighborhoods during this week.

“Some materials will end up causing a more significant fire if they’re in the wrong place,” said Capt. John Lund with the Idaho Falls Fire Department. “Some material will pollute the air, the drinking water and the soil.”
